ESPACE 628 T SEAT

The Kotobuki Seating Group introduced the ESPACE 628 T in 1982 as its first seat designed for telescopic platforms. Chief engineer Minoru Fujisawa conceived the model and integrated an innovative gravity-folding system to minimize space usage.

As the design evolved, the seat gained a front-folding anti-panic writing tablet that increases versatility. The ESPACE 628 T remains a popular choice for corporate and educational auditoriums using telescopic platform systems, where its geometry fits seamlessly. When folded, it occupies only 17 cm, allowing wider aisles and easier circulation. Despite its compact size, the seat delivers excellent comfort through ergonomic shaping and carefully selected materials.

FLEXIBLE APPLICATIONS

The standard version of the writing desk is 26 cm wide at the front and 31 cm wide in the “large” version. This allows the chair to provide a large and rigid work surface, facilitating the use of laptops. Right-handed and left-handed versions are available. This meets the 10 percent requirement by the distribution of the tablets in each of the rows. The minimal dimensions allow installation in both fixed venues and multi-purpose halls where seating must be cleared quickly. The ESPACE 628 T supports multiple systems:

  • Telescopic platforms: Feet adapt to folding systems integrated into the platforms.
  • MATRIX system: Self-supporting feet with transport and storage trolleys enable fast setup and removal.
  • K-Roll system: Benches with retractable wheels allow 360-degree movement.
  • KUF drawers: Fully automated drawers store the folded seats beneath the floor.

Across all configurations, the seat accommodates a wide anti-panic lectern. It is available in benches of two, three, four, or five seats, with support options tailored to each installation system.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

The ESPACE 628 T supports upholstery woven from recycled PET polyester yarns. Every component can be recycled independently, helping reduce environmental impact and support a closed materials lifecycle.
