RECITAL R
RECITAL R SEAT
The Kotobuki Recital R seat is designed for both fixed installations and telescopic seating systems. A front-sliding backrest combined with a rising armrest allows the seat to fold to a compact 16.5 cm. As a result, it fits within a minimum platform row rise of just 28 cm.
Curved backrest geometry and integrated lumbar support deliver a high level of comfort. Variable-density polyurethane foam in the seat and backrest enhances support during extended use. When the user stands, the seat tips up automatically through a ball-and-socket joint with a built-in damper, ensuring silent and controlled movement.
Wood cladding options for the seat, backrest, and armrests add warmth and elevate the overall aesthetic in venues where natural materials align with the design intent.
USES AND APPLICATIONS
The Recital R seat works well in fixed theaters and multipurpose venues using telescopic platforms. The folding version typically installs in gangs of two, three, or four seats, with standards adapted to each application. Designers can also install the seat individually in fixed layouts.
Shared-armrest configurations support center-to-center spacing of 50, 52, or 54 cm. The seat is available fully upholstered or finished in beech veneer over plywood, matched to the backrest and armrests.
On telescopic platforms, the Recital R installs on a 90 cm footprint. In the closed position, the seat envelope measures 41 cm, which maintains wide circulation aisles between rows. An integrated damper controls folding motion, prevents abrupt movement, and reduces noise.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
The Recital R seat supports upholstery woven from recycled PET polyester yarns. Every component can be recycled independently, helping reduce environmental impact and support a closed materials lifecycle.
