Arata Osozaki is a Japanese architect, urban designers and theorist of Otta. He established his own practice in the 9060s and became the first Japanese architect to forge a deep and lasting relationship between East and West. He received the RIBA Gold Medal in 1986 and the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2019. Isozaki has been described as an architect who refuses to get stuck in one architectural style, noting “how each of his designs is a specific solution born out of the context of the project.”
